- DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 28TH 2005 -
ESSAY, POETRY AND POSTER COMPETITION
Topic: “HOW CORRUPTION AFFECTS ME”.
The Anti-Corruption Commission of Sierra Leone is organizing
an Essay, Poetry and Poster Competition on the Topic:
“HOW CORRUPTION AFFECTS ME”.
This competition is a new angle of
approach to engage our young people, the direct inheritors
of the Sierra Leone Legacy in a national dialogue. Hoping
that we get the right responses, a good foundation would
have been laid for further interactions to continue
on a variety of issues relevant to good Governance and
Reform. There is also the aspect of civic education
for our young people, which the ACC is now in the process
of developing.
No doubt that adult citizens such as
principals of secondary schools will be involved in
the exercise of disseminating news about the competition
as well as encouraging the full participation of young
people. The ACC is also appealing to NGOs and other
opinion-moulders to use their good lines of communication
and trust already established within the various communities
as a medium through which young people can become informed
about this competition.
The ACC needs the support of all to
help get the message across the entire nation and even
beyond the borders of Sierra Leone to other Sierra Leonean
children in the Diaspora. It is the sincere desire of
the ACC to attract as many contributions as it possibly
can.
This exercise is being undertaken
whilst keeping in focus the on-going preparation of
the National Anti-Corruption Strategy. Rules of the
