NATIONAL
ANTI-CORRUPTION STRATEGY
PRESS
RELEASE
The Anti-Corruption Commission is currently with partners
particularly young people and youths across the country
to sensitise communities all over the country on the National
Anti-Corruption Strategy (NACS).
In
order to reach out to the wider spectrum of society, the
ACC has distributed a number of pocket size notebooks to
young people who after participating in NACS Training Workshops
have volunteered to continue with sensitization work in
their various localities. These notebooks are to be used
to log in details of contacts made for future reference
and research purposes.
The
ACC has been reliably informed that a few of these volunteers
particularly in the Bo area have been over stepping the
mandate given which is only to sensitize.
The
Mandate reads:
“Bearer
has committed himself/herself to sensitizing and educating
as many as possible of our compatriots of the need to join
in the fight against Corruption and also in the process
help educate others of the evils of Corruption and to prevent
it spreading further”.
Whilst
the Commission continues to lend its support to the work
of these volunteers, the Commission is warning all those
over stepping the mandate given either deliberately or out
of sheer over zealousness to cease forthwith.
The
cooperation of the public is solicited to bring a quick
halt to this problem, by promptly reporting any such unlawful
action on the following numbers:
