Concept behind the Logo
INTERPRETATION
OF THE ANTI CORRUPTION LOGO

The
Commission's Logo has three main features: The National
Flag, The Martial Eagle and the Motto.
The
National Flag means that the fight against corruption is
a national concern. Its also implies that at the end of
the day when the war is won, the values for which the colours
of the flag stand: Agriculture, Natural Resources and our
mountains (Green); Unity and Justice (White); and our unique
natural harbour (Blue) will be realized by everyone.
The
Martial Eagle whose head is placed at the center of the
logo may not be a very familar feature. Our research findings
shows that it is the largest and most powerful eagle in
the open savannah. It is often seen perched erect on a treetop
waiting for its prey.
Maritial
Eagle are widely but sparingly distributed in the savannah,
north of the forest, being recorded from Senegal, The Gambia,
Guinea Bissua, Sierra Leone, Mali, Cote d' Ivorie, Ghana,
Nigeria, Cameroun, Chad and Central African Republic.
The
commision's emphasis on using this species of eagle is not
exactly on her predatory trait, rather itis on her omniscient
nature.
On
this Logo, the Martial Eagle symbolises an ever-present
eye watching every Sierra Leonean, particularly
functionaries in the public and private sectors as they
carry out their varied functions.
